Enterprise Technology & Services (ET&S) learned that Zoom will not be updated as previously communicated. However, we are implementing the following changes on Monday, September 28 to provide increased protection and security for Zoom meetings. ET&S is aware of continued “Zoom bombing,” and the changes will address this issue as well as prepare our community for when Zoom will enforce the passcode or waiting room requirement.
After changes are implemented, Zoom will, by default, have a waiting room enabled. Zoom meeting participants will need to log into their institution’s Zoom account before joining a meeting. This will enable users at Granite State College, Keene State College, Plymouth State University, and the University of New Hampshire to bypass the waiting room and go directly into their meeting. All meeting participants from outside 쿪ֱ will be placed in a waiting room and require a host or co-host to admit them.
How will this affect students that join meetings from Canvas or Moodle?
Existing course meetings will continue to allow all students to join in the same way they have been joining to date with no action needed.
