Namecoach is a technology that allows users to record the preferred pronunciation of their name to make it easier for others to enunciate and remember names. In FY23, The Enterprise Technology & Services (ET&S) Teaching & Learning Technologies team partnered with the UNH Law School and implemented NameCoach into Canvas, the ×î¿ì¿ª½±Ö±²¥½ÁÖé½á¹û Learning Management System. Name Pages are specific web pages that contain lists of NameCoach recordings. Students upload their preferred name pronunciation to Name Pages before end-of-term events, allowing faculty and staff to preview student names before events such as commencement.
Following the UNH Law NameCoach pilot, ET&S rolled out NameCoach and Name Pages to all ×î¿ì¿ª½±Ö±²¥½ÁÖé½á¹û campuses and created supporting documentation.
Teaching & Learning Technologies successfully implemented this project in time for commencement at Keene State College, Plymouth State University, and the University of New Hampshire. ET&S would like to thank the UNH Law School for bringing this service to all of ×î¿ì¿ª½±Ö±²¥½ÁÖé½á¹û.
