Lean is an industry-recognized methodology used to help transform any industry, organization, or process through change. With a focus on continuous improvements, fostering innovation and driving customer value, Lean delivers great results. Enterprise Technology & Services has offered training on Lean since 2015 to university and New Hampshire state employees. To date, more than 900 employees across 쿪ֱ have participated in Lean training.
In November 2019, ET&S partnered with the state of New Hampshire to host the fourth Lean Summit with a theme of “So You Think You Know Lean?” The event drew 268 attendees from across New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont, and featured 11 speakers (one from Minnesota) and a myriad of educational breakout sessions.
Former U.S. Army Sgt. Travis Mills, who survived an improvised explosive device (IED) blast during his third tour of duty in Afghanistan, delivered the keynote address. His message of hope and resilience resonated with the audience and provided inspiration. After his presentation, Mills engaged with students at UNH Military and Veteran Affairs to discuss the challenges and strategies associated with transitioning from military service to civilian life.
The Lean Summit is committed to the spirit of innovation. It helps practitioners learn new skills and techniques to better deliver value and efficiency through Lean and Continuous Process Improvement. Participants heard from an array of Lean experts, networked with other Lean practitioners, and participated in hands-on activities to introduce new ideas to help sharpen toolsets.
